The Hollies, "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress"
The Hollies have a lot of good, random songs. I remember buying a greatest hits album and recognizing and loving nearly every song. For me, they're kind of a best kept secret, since you rarely hear about their music.

The Hollies are up for Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction this year - maybe you should write the academy a letter of reccommendation!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I can't remember the exact phrasing of the question, but they were the answer on a very big difficult quiz in Esquire one year. The question was something like, what band had two back-to-back number one hits that used a total of two words between both titles? And it was the Hollies with "Bus Stop" and "Stop Stop Stop"
